Computational hands-on exercises on Tuesday 7 March will be hosted and webcast by the CSC – IT Center for Science, the Finnish national HPC resource. Tutorials will cover the following topics:

- part I: materials descriptors
- part II: unsupervised learning
- part III: neural networks
- part IV: kernel regression techniques
Location
All hands-on exercises will take place at the CSC (Keilaranta 14, Espoo) and the ADF (Betonimiehenkuja 5C, 02150 Espoo) at one of the three venues:
- CSC Dogmi room: live instruction (webcast), 24 participants, workstations available (Filippo F. Canova)
- CSC Debatti room: webcast instruction, 20 participants, own laptop required (Yashasvi Ranawat)
- ADF Stage room: webcast instruction, all participants, own laptop required (Marc Jäger)
Setup instructions
Own laptop is essential to getting hands-on experience of the tutorial. All exercises are stored in python3 notebooks. Computing should be executed locally on own laptop, for best learning.
Linux OS is desirable to execute 100% of the exercises, through 75% can be executed with OS X or Windows. Requirements include: python3, jupyter. Download and setup the tutorial on your own laptop by following the installation instructions script.
